Technology Career Focus\u00a0<\/em>program introduces learners from equity-seeking groups in our community to skills training and career opportunities in the Information Technology sector.\u00a0 The program consists of three badges in the areas of\u00a0Personal and Professional Development, Communicating in the Digital Era and Information Technology Career Exploration.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In-class instruction is supplemented with presentations, guest speakers and hands-on training in introductory programming and computer networking.\u00a0 Students also participate in a one-week job shadow with an employer in the Information Technology sector.\u00a0 Our pilot projects are open to members of equity-seeking groups, with priority given to persons with disabilities (August to December offering) and women entering or returning to the workforce (January to April offering) who are considering post-secondary training in Information Technology.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Upon successful completion of the three badges, students will receive a Micro-credential in\u00a0<em>Information Technology Career Focus<\/em>.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>Admission requirements<\/h4><ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><li><strong>High School<\/strong><br \/>Provincial High School Graduation Certificate with a 60% average in nine level 3000 credits or equivalent<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Comprehensive Arts and Science (CAS) Transition <\/strong><\/p><p>Comprehensive Arts and Science Transition Certificate<\/p><ul><li><strong>Adult Basic Education (ABE)<\/strong><br \/>Adult Basic Education (Level III) Graduation with General College Profile (or Business-Related College Profile or Degree and Technical Profile) with an average pass mark of 60%<\/li><\/ul><ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><li>\u00a0<strong>Mature Student\u00a0Requirements<\/strong><br \/>Applicants who do not meet the education prerequisites for this program, are 19 years\u00a0at the time of application and\u00a0out of school for at least one year may be considered on an individual basis under the Mature Student Requirements; for more information regarding the Mature Student Requirements please refer to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cna.nl.ca\/About\/pdfs\/policies-and-procedures\/Academic\/Admission\/2Procedure\/AC-102-PR_Admission%20(2016).pdf\" AC-102-PR Admission<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul><h4>\u00a0<\/h4><h4>Program length<\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This 16-week program consists of 25 hours per week of in-class participation (5 hours
